Biography:
Dr. Tang Gau-Jun, a leader in Taiwan's critical care medicine, graduated from National Yang-Ming University's School of Medicine and completed his anesthesiology residency at Taipei Veterans General Hospital. He pursued further studies at Johns Hopkins, where he earned a master's degree in public health. Returning to Taiwan, he became Director of the ICU at Taipei Veterans General Hospital and served as President of the Taiwan Society of Critical Care Medicine. Internationally, he was Secretary-General of the Asia Pacific Association of Critical Care Medicine.
Dr. Tang was instrumental in promoting the Surviving Sepsis Campaign in Taiwan, leading to a significant reduction in sepsis mortality rates. As Director of Yilan Hospital, he transformed it into a regional teaching hospital and was recognized for his leadership during the 2003 SARS outbreak. He also held leadership roles at Taipei City Hospital and National Yang-Ming University Hospital, focusing on innovative healthcare models and smart medical systems. His research interests include sepsis treatment, big data analysis in critical care, and smart healthcare applications, significantly advancing critical care medicine in Taiwan.
