- Vice dean of college of Medicine, Fu-Jen Catholic University and director of Department of Emergency Medicine, Fu-Jen Catholic University Hospital.
Biography:
Prof. Wang received his medical degree from National Taiwan University in 1988. He also got the Ph.D. of Graduate Institute of Physiology, National Taiwan University in 1998 and Master of Justice, Graduate Institute of Law, Soo-Chow University in 2005. He completed his training of emergency physician, intensivist and cardiologist in Taiwan and was granted the Fellow of European Society of Cardiology (F.E.S.C.) in 1999 and the Fellow of American College of Cardiology (F.A.C.C.) in 2000. He also won many academic awards such as Young Investigator Awards, North American Society of Pacing and Electrophysiology (N.A.S.P.E.) and American Society of Chest Physician in 1995.
Prof. Wang is now vice dean of college of Medicine, Fu-Jen Catholic University and director of Department of Emergency Medicine, Fu-Jen Catholic University Hospital after being a director and senior consultant in the Emergency Department at Shin-Kong Wu Ho-Su Memorial Hospital in Taiwan for 22 years, vice superintendent of Chang-Bing Su Chwang Memorial Hospital for 3 years, professor in Medical School and Law School of Fu-Jen Catholic University in Taiwan. He is also the vice chair and medical consultant of EMS committee of Taipei City Government and New Taipei City Government, Taiwan and continues to improve the quality of pre-hospital care and layperson resuscitation. He is the key person who implemented nationwide automatic defibrillation (AED) programme in Taiwan. As a member of the medical advisory committee of Emergency Medicine committee for more than 15 years, he was awarded National Contribution Medal in 2014.
He has been the chair of Resuscitation Council of Asia (RCA), the CEO of National Resuscitation Council of Taiwan (NRCT) and the chair of task force for Taiwan Resuscitation Guidelines 2010 and 2015. He is the representative of NRCT in RCA general assembly, the delegate of RCA in ILCOR general assembly, and a key collaborator of ILCOR.
He has participated in the International Consensus on Emergency Cardiac Care and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Science with Treatment Recommendations as evidence evaluator since 2007. He was a member of ILCOR advance life support taskforce C2015 and completed the evidence review of the PICO eCPR vs mCPR in a timely manner. He has good experience of ILCOR evidence reviewer and GRADE process and became a member of ILCOR Scientific Advisory Committee. He manages and understands the importance of the conflict of interest process. Professor Wang worked well collaboratively with colleagues and mentored and supported evidence reviewers and colleagues on the task force.
Prof. Wang has published more than 100 articles in international and local peer- reviewed journals, including high impact factor journals such as Annals of Emergency Medicine and Resuscitation. He is also the editor and/or reviewers of many international of local journals.
