Biography:
Dr. Miguel Sánchez Garcia is the Director of the Critical Care Department at
Hospital Clínico San Carlos and Associate Professor in Medicine at the Universidad Complutense in Madrid, Spain.
Dr Sánchez Garcia completed his MD at the Universidad Autónoma in Madrid before undertaking his Residency training in Intensive Care Medicine at the Hospital de la Princesa, also in Madrid. He has been a Critical Care Consultant at the Hospital Universitario Principe de Asturias/Alcalá de Henares in Madrid, where he was awarded his PhD from the Universidad Autónoma.
His main areas of interest are the prevention and treatment of severe infection, bacterial resistance and the host response to infection, areas in which he has an extensive curriculum of research and publication.
He has lectured extensively at international meetings and has contributed to medical text books and published widely.

Dr Sánchez García is a member of the Spanish Society of Intensive Care Medicine, the European Society of Intensive Care Medicine, the Spanish Society of Infectious Diseases and Microbiology, and the Regional Society of Intensive Care Medicine.-
Dr. is a full member of the Royal National Spanish Academy of Medicine since 2021.4
